FAQs
Quite simply, the Titanium from Soprano is the world’s #1 laser hair removal device. The Titanium offers several incredible advantages over other solutions due to its unique combination of technologies as well as an extra-large applicator and advanced cooling system.
Advantages include:
3D Technology – the combination of three wavelengths in a single applicator to simultaneously target different tissue depths and anatomical structures within the hair follicle.
Pain-Free – the Titanium includes breakthrough cooling system called ICE Plus that has been uniquely designed to keep your skin cool throughout the entire session.
TRIO Applicator – the extra-large applicator means greater coverage resulting in a significantly shorter treatment time.
IPL often needs more treatments as it has no specific target and is more susceptible to side-effects. Laser targets the dark pigment of the hair and therefore requires less treatments and is a more effective method of hair removal with substantially better results.
The laser creates a light which is absorbed by the hair and destroys it to the root, preventing re-growth. Lasers target the pigmentation in the hair (the colour), which is why lasers work best on darker hair. The Laser uses the most successful photo epilation wavelength (810 nm), which makes it the gold standard for laser hair removal. In addition, a patented DualChill™ mechanism ensures the surface of your skin stays cool and even more comfortable throughout your treatment. This new permanent laser hair removal system breaks the mould of previous laser hair removal systems. The system’s unique IN-Motion™ technology, along with the sweeping motion of the laser, safely and gently builds up heat in the hair follicle to destroy it, while you stay comfortable.
Yes, it is very safe. It is non-carcinogenic (non-cancer causing). Hair removal is one of the aesthetic medical industry’s most well-known and researched uses of lasers. Pain-Free Soprano Laser has provided permanent hair reduction for thousands of patients worldwide, safely and successfully since it was cleared by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Our laser therapists are fully trained.
Most people find the treatment very comfortable. While pain tolerance is subjective, many patients often describe the sensation as soothing as a “hot stone massage.”
At any time, around 20% of your hair is dormant and there are 3 stages to its growth. Laser only destroys hairs that are in the earliest growth phase, so you will usually need between six and eight sessions to remove the hair completely. There are other factors that will affect your treatment outcome such as; hormonal in-balance, ethnicity and skin sensitivity.
The result: A 50-80%(or better) reduction in unwanted hair. Hair is natural to your body and it grows in stages. At any given time, not all hairs are growing and lasers are most effective at targeting the growing hairs. In practice, no laser destroys all of the hair follicles. Some follicles are destroyed, while others are reduced to fine hairs or shocked into prolonged dormancy. Multiple treatments provide the best results.
The short answer is no. Once the hair follicle is damaged, it cannot grow new hair. However, there are invariably a few hair follicles that manage to partially escape the laser during each treatment. Some of these follicles may be only stunned and will need to be retreated.
The Soprano incorporates all 3 wavelengths into a single applicator:
The Alexandrite 755nm– This wavelength is used to target an extensive range of hair colours and types, including thin hair and hair that is light in colour, and can even address embedded hair.
The SPEED 810nm– This wavelength is used for darker skin types, and targets the deep hair follicle. It has a moderate tissue penetration depth to treat areas like the arms, legs, cheeks, and chin.
YAG 1064– The YAG 1064 is the most penetrative wavelength, and is ideal for treating embedded hairs, like those that can occur in the armpits and pubic area, and targets the deepest parts of the follicle for the most effective laser hair removal treatment possible.
Therefore, the laser targets pigments contained in the hair and all pigmented hair will react well to treatment. All skin types from 1 – 6 can be treated although white or grey hair will not respond very well.
You need to book in for a free patch test/consultation with our highly qualified & experienced laser technicians. They will assess the area and talk you through the procedure. You will then be recommended a tailor-made package that will offer you the best results for your needs. You can start the treatment as soon as 24 hours after the patch test.
Throughout the course of your treatment the hair growth will start to reduce. Once you have had a treatment the hairs will be pushed up to the surface of the skin and some will start to fall out. If you need to remove any hair that appears you can shave but must not remove the hair from the follicle (i.e. plucking, waxing or threading).
A cool gel is applied to the area being treated, which acts as a conductor for the laser. The laser is then placed gently against the skin and pulses of light target the hairs. Some of the hairs will have been removed after your first session, but it can take up to 3 weeks following your treatment for all the hairs to fall out. You will then notice finer re-growth and then follow it up with your 2nd treatment.
Usually you will come to the clinic every 4-6 weeks, dependent upon your hair density. Facial hair needs to be treated between every 3-4 weeks although we will advise you on this.

The area to be treated should be shave 12-24 hours prior to the session. The patient must not wax, thread or tweeze any of the hairs. The skin should also be clean from tanning products, creams and perfume.
Normally the skin will feel slightly warm and red after the treatment, but this normally disappears within minutes or a few hours. Follow these post care tips to ensure maximum comfort after your treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure
You must not expose the treated skin to UV or self-tan (sun beds) for at least 4 weeks before or after treatment. If your skin gets a tan (active tan) then you are at greater risk of developing hyper pigmentation or getting a burn. - Use a soothing gel
You must protect your skin from the sun – if it’s an area that is exposed like your face/arms/neck then make sure you use a high SPF cream every day to avoid getting a tan (around SPF 30 and above). Simple soothing products like Aloe Vera gel can be used if your skin is feeling slightly sore. The gel will help to calm down any redness you may experience from the laser. - Avoid harsh chemicals
This means no bleach or perfumed products such as aromatherapy oils for at least 24 – 48 hours on the area treated. Also avoid swimming in chlorinated water for 48 -72 hours. - Do not wax, thread or pluck the area treated
You may shave or in between treatments. It is advisable to leave the area alone for 24 – 48 hours after your treatment to avoid any skin irritation. - Avoid a hot bath/shower
If you have had laser hair removal done on your body then it is best to avoid having a hot bath or shower (sauna/steam) for 24 -48 hours as it can cause skin irritation especially if you have sensitive skin. - Avoid exfoliating
If you have had laser hair removal on your face then you must avoid having harsh treatments done such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion for at least 14 days before or after treatment. - Talk to your practitioner
If you are in any doubt at all, just contact one of our practitioners for advice and if you are very concerned arrange an appointment so they can assess your skin. Your safety and comfort is our top priority so our practitioners are available at any time of the day to make sure everything is well.
